What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that is gone forever and impossible to reproduce.

Karl Lagerfeld (1933 - 2019)

I was born in Wolfenbüttel, Germany  in 1980 and grew up in Braunschweig.

I started taking pictures at the age of 11, when my father gave me his old analog SLR camera. From then on, the camera was always a part of me. Even back then, black and white photography fascinated me.

The photojournalist Ted Grant said, "When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. When you photograph them in black and white, you are photographing their souls."

When there are no colors, the viewer is forced to look behind the obvious to perceive the aura that a photograph exudes.

By removing color, the focus is drawn to light, shadows, contrasts, lines, shapes, textures, and through the soul of the image. Because the viewer is not distracted by colors, the focus is more on objects to be viewed and the situation.

I want the viewer not only to look at the picture, but to feel it. I want him to see and feel my view of the world through my eyes.

Some photographers say that a black and white picture is a compensation for failed color pictures. Or even an alternative to getting the wrong things right. No, when you choose black and white photography, it is a benevolent consideration and independent way of seeing, thinking and feeling.

It was I think 2007 when I switched from analog to digital photography. This way showed once again a completely different possibility, so that I have stuck to it until today.

After I graduated with a degree in business administration (specializing in construction and architecture) and started my first job, I was able to pursue another passion, traveling, with photography as a career.

So my camera and I had the opportunity to capture different cultures and personalities.

My main job is still in real estate, where I work with a strong and motivated team day in and day out to overcome the everyday hurdles of the professional life.

Without this team, my wife, family, friends and the people around me who support me, I would not be able to set up such projects.

I would like to thank all of the aforementioned for their active support and the faith they have placed in me.
